Bobby Glasgow

Name: Bobby Glasgow

Position: Attack

High School: Sandburg

Most Influential Person in Lacrosse: Coach Tom Haggerty

Playing in College? Most likely club at Indiana University.

Why do you play lacrosse? I started to play freshman year because I was an awful baseball player and decided it wasn't for me. Tried lacrosse and ever since then I haven't looked back. Lacrosse is just what I love to do.

What do you do when you're not playing? Listen to music and hang out with friends.

Most Exciting Game or game moment?  Scoring 4 goals in a minute against Lemont (and a bunch of my New Wave teammates).

Best teammate you have and why?  Even though he didn't pick me... Tyler Rauwolf and I have great chemistry on attack so I'd have to go with him.

What player do you try to emulate and why? Steele Stanwick. He can do it all.

List Personal and Athletic Accomplishments Below

2009 - Chiefs Rookie of the Year

2010 - New Wave U17 Team MVP: Fall

2011 - Chiefs Attack MVP

2011 - 1st Team All-Conference

2011 - New Wave U19 Most Improved: Summer

Tyler Rauwolf

Name:  Tyler Rauwolf

Position: Attack
High School
: Carl Sandburg High School

Most Influential Person in Lacrosse: Coach Andy Thompson.

Coach Andy gave me my first opportunity about 3 or 4 years ago by selecting me to be an alternate for the u17’s. Ever since then I have worked my hardest and he has done everything in his power to make me a better player. Coach Andy helped give me the confidence to be the player I am today.

Playing in College? (Where): I hope to play at the collegiate level but have not committed yet to any particular college

Why do you play lacrosse? I play lacrosse because it’s what I love to do. I am always holding a lacrosse stick and always looking to improve my game.

What do you do when you're not playing? In my down time I like to relax and chill with my friends and occasionally play XBOX.

Most Exciting Game or game moment? My most exciting game was definitely in Denver this last summer (2011). We were neck and neck the whole game and in the last minute we were down 9-8. Ryan Solon dodged from the top as I cut across the crease and caught the ball. I had my back turned to the goal and put it between my legs and it bounced perfectly in top right. Everyone went nuts because now we were going into O.T. After 1 minute of man up of no scoring and an amazing save by Johnny Forsythe, I caught the ball on another man up situation and let one fly. Sure enough it went past the goalie and into the net. This was my most exciting game by far because not only did I have a fancy goal to tie it up but I had the O.T winner and it was a great note to leave on for our flight home.

Best teammate you have and why? I really don’t have a best teammate. I love playing with everyone at New Wave and I don’t think one person deserves it over another because lacrosse is not an individual sport; you need the whole team in sync to play to perfection.

What player do you try to emulate and why? Coming from an area that is not a hot bed for lacrosse, I really don’t try to emulate a particular player. When I get on the field I go with my gut instinct and simply play my hardest- sure enough it works.

Ryan Stoll - Summer 2011

Ryan Stoll

Congratulations to Ryan Stoll, winner of the Summer 2011 official “Man Up Award”

"We first met Ryan when he came on our Houston trip two years ago shortly after he returned from Singapore (He spent his frosh and soph years over seas).  In that tournament he had 18 goals in 2 days.  He has been our ‘go to’ guy every since. He has that "Michael Jordan" character trait of ‘he wants the ball in his stick in clutch situations” and we’re happy to give it to him.

It has been a pleasure working with Ryan and he has been a true leader on the field.  He has all of the traits that a coach looks for.  He has a great stick, great shot, high lacrosse IQ, speed, athleticism and most importantly, an incredible desire to win.  Colorado University (CU) have definitely got a ‘keeper’ in Ryan.  He will be an asset to any team that he plays on." - Director and Coach Paul Stolzer

Over 25 colleges have shown interest in Stoll's game.

Ryan Solon - Spring 2011

Ryan Solon

Congratulations to Ryan Solon, winner of the second official “Man Up Award”

Ryan has displayed incredible commitment, tremendous talent and has been presented various collegiate opportunities during his prolific New Wave Lacrosse career.

Ryan has played on the New Wave Club team since the fall of his junior year. He  has been extremely dedicated in the off season through playing on the club team, training with Nick Falzone from 2 Quick Performance, and playing in summer and winter leagues through New Wave.  Ryan has become a tremendous role model over at Geneva and has motivated a lot of his teammates to "pick up their stick in the off season".  The benefits of this have already started paying off.

Since playing with New Wave, Ryan has been getting looks from quite a few colleges, with the number of college contacts up to 22 now. “One of the questions I hear most at tournaments is ‘Who is #36?’” says New Wave Director and Coach Paul Stolzer, who has been Ryan’s club coach for three years. “He is without a doubt one of the most dedicated, hard working and talented players we have had.”

The Geneva Vikings, Ryan’s High School team, won the 2011 Sticks and Stones tournament this past weekend by going 5-0 and winning the championship 10-1.  Ryan was named the tournaments "MVP.”  "I'm not surprised!" says Coach Andy Thompson.  "Geneva has worked as hard as any program in this state during this past off season.  Their players came in by the dozens for our summer, fall, and winter leagues and a bunch of them are playing on our club team now.  It is great to see how contagious this has been with all of the coaches, players, and parents in their program."
